To Bake, Boil or Fry?

6"x6"
Acrylic
These potatoes are freshly washed, sitting on the cutting board, waiting to become something new. The question is, "What to make?" This is the question I have on a daily basis. I open the refrigerator and look in the cupboard, taking inventory of what I have, and contemplating my options.

No Sugar Needed

6"x6"
Acrylic
The grapefruit is from my father's tree. They are so sweet they don't need sugar. I love the variety of odd shapes and the exterior coloration. I chose, Tangerine, the color for 2012, to set off the yellow grapefruit.

Tangerine Bloom

The rose is a small climber with a flower that changes from golden yellow to orange and crimson. It is one of my favorites in the garden.

Banana reflection

6"x6"
Acrylic
Painted on a 3/16" wood panel with finished edges, this painting can be beautifully displayed on a tabletop easel. The image depicts a pair of bananas resting on a sheet of glass so the reflection of the image can be seen.

I created this photo by placing black fabric in a large shoe box, placing a sheet of glass at the back and inside the bottom, and I then set the pair of bananas on the glass.
The reflection of the bananas in the background is too dominant and complicates the composition so I am going to paint over the background with black.
