Apple Study V

4" x 4" acrylic on 3/16" wood panel
This is the fifth in a series of 6 apple studies painted on 3/16" thick wood panel. The sides are painted the same green as the background. The apples are from my trees, an Anna and Dorsett Golden.

ABOUT THE PAINTINGS

Nicole paints many glazes, thin, transparent layers of paint, to create visual depth and rich colors. When painting a portrait, she can use up to 30 of these transparent layers on the face. This is very time consuming but the results are worth it. Her preferred painting surface for acrylics is gessoed wood usually in the form of a 3/16" wood panel. The edges of the wood panel are painted; creating a finished look that is unique and sure to be a conversation piece. Acrylics dry almost instantly and can be shipped the same day. Your purchase will arrive unframed unless specified in the description.
